Bolton Rewarded for Top-Class Play

Bolton manager Owen Coyle has been awarded with the Premier League’s Manager of the Month Award for November.

Wanderer’s Swedish striker Johan Elmander also received an award, the Player of the Month in the Premier League.

Bolton is in sixth place in the league, and were undefeated in November, winning three and drawing two.

Not bad for a club that finished 14th last season.

Bolton currently has 23 points from 15 matches, only three points behind fourth-place Manchester City. The Wanderers defeated both Tottenham and Newcastle in that stretch. Who knows what Coyle is doing, but he really has this team competitive, and an early possibility for landing a spot in Europe. That would be an absolutely great boost for the club.

Elmander scored three goals during the month of November, and is really spearheading the attack, with eight goals over the course of the Premier League season. Bolton’s leading scorer is two goals ahead of fellow striker Kevin Davies, who is also having a dream season for the club this season.

Ladies and gentlemen, your Premier League Player of the Month.

If Bolton can keep the momentum going, there is no way of telling how high they can finish. The likes of Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City and Newcastle have definite reason to be concerned about the Wanderers’ ascension. The battle for Europe will be an absolute dogfight.

Bolton head to the City of Manchester Stadium tomorrow for a match against the Blues. If Coyle and his boys want to really put a statement on their recent play, a positive result against City is a must.

The string of good results has to be considered an extremely successful start to the season for Bolton, and the supporters should be in for an exciting match tomorrow.

Who knows, maybe Bolton will solidify their place as a European contender?

Seeing this club’s success this season; it is very possible.

The match is on Fox Soccer Plus at 10 a.m. ET.
