RIP Paul The Octopus

Paul 2008-2010. Thanks for the memories, Paul

Everyone’s favorite cephalopod, Paul has moved on to the big aquarium in the sky. He was two years old.

Paul, who took the world by storm when he was predicting matches correctly throughout the World Cup. Overall, Paul had an 88% success rate when predicting matches.

One question I had was, did Paul live a full and long life? Well, he probably was a pretty happy dude, as he had his choice of shellfish on a daily basis. What more could an Octopus want?

Also, octopi life spans are around six months. So Paul did pretty well for himself. This guy was the Abe Vigoda of octopi.

I am sure he is looking down on all of us now, laughing at the bookies and bettors that depended on him so much, and will now have to go back to astrology, shamen and Mark Lawrenson to figure out who will win on a given weekend.

Oh Paul, we hardly knew ye.

Paul, if you’re out there, when will the Arrested Development movie get made?
